And one of the cables down the back.

Flip flop sock. Just finished the first and about to cast on for second. Pattern is toe jazz from fiber trends. Done in admiral bambus which is a lovely yarn to knit with if sometimes a little short on weight/yardage.

I've given in and joined the Twitter revolution, those in the know who want to follow my everyday randomness and goings on in my life can search for me over there, or observe the ever changing stream of consciousness somewhere down the right hand side of this page.
Just some photos of finished projects, the pink socks that I had so many problems with are the Angel's Rest pattern that I did some time before Christmas which somehow I never got round to posting.

And some photos of my mystery blanket, which I finally finished the border on about 5pm yesterday. I'd tried to take some more photos and get some nice close ups but unfortunately the camera died a death after the second one and still doesn't want to be revived. The blanket weighs an absolute ton but looks amazing. I think this is the biggest single project I've done and can honestly say I've enjoyed it right the way through, even the squares I wasn't keen on weren't so bad in the end. I think out of all of them though the red flower squares and the meadow stripe (green and pink stripes with embroided flowers) have to be my favourites.

It's been a busy one, still waiting to hear back about the job but as it's something I very much want to do I've been crossing fingers, toes and just about anything else that it's possible to cross (which makes knitting somewhat difficult I can tell you). I've finished my final assignments and have them all ready to hand in. I've also finished my final square of last year's mystery blanket and the strips are sat in my knitting bag waiting to be sewn up this afternoon. I've also got about halfway through my first Toe Jazz sock, and while I'm not one for rocking the socks and sandals look as a rule sometimes it's just a little bit too chill to venture out in my flip flops - plus they have a lovely cable that runs all the way down the back of the sock right to the base of the foot, and I'm sure you'll agree dear readers. It would be such a crime to hide such lovely stitch work away in my every day shoes. Pictures of both blanket and socks to follow, but now it's off to hand work in for almost the last time.

My chicken square, the centre square of last year's mystery blanket. Which means one thing - it's almost finished, only three squares and the border to do now. Which is all very exciting.
